What Your Merged File Will Look Like

PDFs are joined one after another, not mixed together. Put a 4-page file first and a 10-page file second, and the result has 14 pages. Pages keep their original layout and appearance, in the order you selected.

Merge Two PDFs or a Whole Stack

Simple jobs

Merge Two PDF Files

For a simple pair, such as a signed form and its cover page, add both files, check which one should come first, and merge. It takes just a few steps.
Larger projects

Merge Multiple PDFs into One

Bigger sets work the same way. Typical jobs include:
  • Monthly bank statements joined into one reference file
  • Lecture notes from several weeks combined for revision
  • A proposal, price sheet, and terms in one attachment

Tip: Number files before uploading (01, 02, 03) to make the order easy to check.

Before You Merge: A 30-Second Check

  • Open each file first

A PDF that will not open on your device may not merge.

  • Remove passwords

Unlock protected PDFs before adding them.

  • Check page orientation

Portrait and landscape can mix, but scanned pages may be sideways.

  • Delete unwanted pages

Trim source files before merging to save time.

Quick troubleshooting

If Something Looks Off

File too large to send?

Combined files can be large. Try our Compress PDF tool afterward.

A file is in the wrong place?

Move the source file in the list and merge again. Your originals remain untouched.

One file is rejected?

It may be damaged, empty, or locked. Re-save it from its original program and try again.

Online Merge PDF vs. Desktop Software

Desktop programs make sense if you merge files all day or need advanced page editing. For simpler jobs, a browser-based PDF merger avoids installing another program. Add your files and combine them on your device.
Useful next step

Need to Remove Pages First?

Prepare source files before merging. Use Split PDF to separate sections, then merge only the parts you need.
